The Vintage 2004 Christain Bourmault is a brut Champagne from the so called ''Blanc de Blanc'' category meaning it is made of 100% Chardonnay grapes only (''Blanc'' means white in French). It has the Premier Cru Cuis label. It has been harvested from over 50 year old vines. It aged in oak barrels for 8 months and was only released in late 2013.
Upon opening, the nose is powerful with some peach and apricot notes mixed together with chalk and licorice flavors. The attack is soft and fresh with some melting and creamy bubbles. The taste is very mineral with some lemon and grapefruit flavors. The long and aromatic finish is superb expressing the purity that only a great Champagne vintage can offer.
